A five year initiative to support the growth of girls’ and women’s baseball throughout the United States and Internationally.
“That’s A Girl’s” holistic approach is meeting awareness with action. It is through community and connection that we will plant seeds of growth.
-
Thanks to other trailblazing organizations we now realize “if we build it, they will come”. Girls CAN and DO play baseball. With over 100,000 girls playing youth baseball in the United States it’s time to address the need to support this ever growing community by working together toward our common goal- More all girl baseball teams, tournaments and opportunities
-
Often a lack of support will push a girl to play another sport or quit baseball all together. Feeling as though a player is “aging out” after Little League or not socially connecting on all boy teams once middle school starts, are only some of the obstacles a girl faces trying to stay committed to baseball.
T.A.G. wants that to change. Developing a support system for individuals to bring more ‘all girl’ baseball to their communities and schools is the goal.
-
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go further, go together”
We are stronger when we unite. “That’s A Girl” believes in uniting all members of the girls’ and women’s baseball community. Whether you played baseball 20 years ago, play now, coach, umpire or just believe that girls belong in baseball- you are in the right place. Through our Big Sister Mentor program we are building strength as a family.
The Future
Girls’ baseball is continuing to see an increased number of players. That’s A Girl (T.A.G.) is here to cultivate strength within the girls’ and women’s baseball community. Through combined efforts, our mission is to continue growing these numbers over the next five years by providing more opportunities for all girl baseball clinics, workshops, camps, tournaments and mentor programs.
This initiative grew from a young girl’s passion into the organization it is today. Its roots have been nourished with love and dedication.
The time to flourish is now.
That’s A Girl Baseball was proud to collaborate with Synchronicity Theater in their upcoming musical, Catching The Moon.
Adapted from the book by Crystal Hubbard, Catching the Moon, a blues-infused musical, tells the spirited story of a young Black girl who grew up to become “Toni Stone,” the first woman to play for an all-male professional baseball team.
February 20 - March 15, 2026
Synchronicity Theatre
at Peachtree Pointe
1545 Peachtree Street
Atlanta, GA 30309
Catching the Moon reminds us that girls have always belonged in baseball—even when the uniforms, leagues, and opportunities said otherwise.
Catching The Moon is a powerful new play about girls, baseball, and believing before you’re believed.
Featuring the true spirit of women’s baseball, Catching the Moon tells the story of girls daring to step onto the diamond when the world says they don’t belong.
Special TAG Giveaway
On Saturday, February 28, That’s A Girl Baseball was honored to attend the performance of the musical. TAG was happy to sponsor a giveaway of the book to all attendees— Catching the Moon— a beautiful companion to the stage story celebrating girls who chased baseball dreams before they were welcome.
TAG Spotlight
That’s a Girl Basebll would like to highlight the incredible achievements of Natola Hawthorne, a trailblazing force in sports officiating whose work continues to open doors for women and underrepresented individuals in baseball and beyond.
Natola made history on February 28, 2023, when she became the first woman to officiate a Division I baseball game in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), calling the plate for the Alabama A&M vs. Stillman College matchup — a milestone moment in collegiate baseball.
She began officiating in 2017 and has worked in multiple conferences nationwide, demonstrating excellence, professionalism, and grit at every step. Her leadership both on and off the field is rooted in a deep belief that opportunity shouldn’t have limits — and that experience, knowledge, and passion are what make great officials, regardless of gender.
Natola’s passion inspired her to develop the She Calls It All Foundation— an organization dedicated to creating training, mentorship, and leadership opportunities in sports officiating for women and underrepresented individuals. Their mission is to build confident, prepared leaders and expand access to officiating roles at all levels of sport
Her work helps redefine what leadership looks like in sports as well as the opportunities given to those ready to step up and lead.
